New employee
Heidi Kvalheim is hired as studio coordinator at Haltenbanken. Heidi has worked in the pharmaceutical industry the last six years.

We are all back at the office after the vaccation, ready for new tasks.

AWorld of Folk – Stavanger2008
A World of Folk is a major artisan and design exhibition in Sandnes curated by Paris-based trend analyst
Li Edelkort. We were asked to make embroidery illustrations on the ground leading the audience from Sandnes train station, across the marketplace, past the centre of culture towards the exhibition in Gravarrsveien. It opened July 5th with a concert by

NIL Yearbook 2008
The 20th edition of The Norwegian organisation of interior architects and furniture designers' yearbook is out. Haltenbanken is represented by two projects. The Bula store at Voss and Pixelpark, Bug and Unique Promotions' office/studio in Bergen.

Bergen Arkitektforening celebrates a 100 years in 2008
This is marked with several happenings throughout the year. We have made the visual profile and designed the exhibition that was set up by Lille Lungegårdsvann. We also made a complimentary book.

April 2008
Fredrikke Quam award.
Elise is one of three nominees to the Fredrikke Quam award. The winner will be anounced at the annual dinner Friday April 4th.

November 2007
NO Magazine
In issue nr 17 of the Norwegian magazine NO, there is an article serie on 15 visual workers. Included in the articles are two pages presenting the work of Haltenbanken. See the magazine online on nomagazine.no

Oleana–Only Fifteen
Oleana celebrate their 15th anniversary with an exhibition at Permanenten Vestlandske Kunstindustrimuseet. Haltenbanken designed the poster, invitation and catalogue. The exhibition is on from 15.09 to 27.10.2007. Worth a visit.

Haltenbanken is expanding
Camilla Holcroft studied design at Central Saint Martins, London, in the 90s and has 9 years of design experience before entering the Haltenbanken Kingdom.
Klar, Ferdig, Gå!
A new childrens TV concept is on air from Saturday 1st of Sept. We have done the identity for the program, as well as illustrations for the studio. The set design is done by
Lise Christensen, and the programme is produced by Fabelaktiv, for NRK.

The Kari Traa Concept Store is nominated for the Designers Saturday Awards Best Interior 2007. The shop is one of 8 nominees, competing for the prize. The winner will be announced during Designers Saturday in Oslo, 8.-9. September. Read about the prize here or here, and about the event Designers Saturday her.

Extremely Natural
The Ekstremsportveko at Voss is taking place for the 10th time. In that occation, we made a book which presents the event, the founders and some of the great athletes that has participated over the years. The book is published by Skald publishing.
Bula Shop
We have made the new interior for the redecorated Bula shop at Voss. Everything has had a facelift, from the illustrated world in the dressing rooms, to the foil on the windows. Another reason to go to Voss

From troll to moose
The Troll souvenir shop at Bryggen in Bergen has become a moose souvenir shop. We have made both products, packaging and signage for Elg.

Visuelt 07
Haltenbanken got 2 nominations in the categori for Visual Identity - small, in this years competition. The projects were: Visual identity for Vassdal&Eriksen Accounts, and our own visual identity. Read about the competition here.
Substans 07
KHIB and Bergen Chamber of Commerce have invited Haltenbanken to present the Kari Traa project at this years Substans conference.

April 2007
Design in...sport
The Norwegian Design Council has invited Haltenbanken to lecture at the Design in....sport seminar at The Centre of Design and Arcitechture in Oslo. Read more about the seminar here.

Award for Design Excellence
Haltenbanken is given the Award for Design Excellence for the visual identity for the clothing label Kari Traa. Read the statement of the jury here.

January 2007
Kari Traa Consept Store, Voss
The world's first Kari Traa Store opened 20th of January in the village Voss. We designed everything from the custom made staircase and cashier, to all the instore grahics. It's all been made according to the Kari Traa universe. Definitely worth a trip to Voss. Read what the paper BT wrote here.
The accountant agency Vassdal & Eriksen have a new website. We did the design and illustration. Kamikaze Media did the programming. See for yourself vassdaleriksen.no
We made them a myspace too.
Trine Hisdal joined Haltenbanken as a full time graphic designer.

November 2006
We did a new website for Bare Møbler.
Bare Møbler won the Young Talent Award 2006, given by DnB Nor & Norsk Form. Congratulations! Read what the jury said.

Kings of Convenience performs a gig in Bergen on the 17th of November. We made the poster.

October 2006
Hydro launched "The Big Box of Energy" at the research days in Bergen. The box is meant to inspire teenagers' interest in science. We designed the box and the instruction manual. Read more about the project here.

September 2006
Desimal as becomes Haltenbanken as. It is still the same company, the same organisation number, the same people, and the same phone number. Only a new name, new identity and new email adresses.
We have made graphic art for a collection of bike helmets made by Etto. They will be available in shops
at spring time.

August 2006
Trine Hisdal has moved in. She is a brilliant graphic
designer/illustrator. We are looking forward to working on exciting projects with her.

NextGenTel is sponsoring Superman Returns. We made the illustrations for the commercial. See the ad here

Mai 2006
The Gotcha spring/summer collection are in stores. We did graphics for the whole collection. The clothes are being sold in UK, France, Spain, Portugal, Austria, Norway, Sweden, Denmark, Russia and Germany.
We got a gold in Visuelt 05. In the category Best visual identity - small, for the work we have done for Kari Traa.

January 2006
We won "Bergensprisen"! The prize is curated by the free paper Natt&Dag. We won the category Visual of the Year, for the work done for the clothing brands Gotcha and Surf Couture. The other nominated were design agency Grandpeople and grafitti artists Kommando
Vassdal & Eriksen has bought the building we are in. They have moved in at the top floor, whilst we have moved up one floor, and are now longer in the basement
NextGenTel
We made the illustrations for the last tv-commercial for NextGenTel. Ad agency Artic gave us the brief, whilst Teken and Bug animated the film. See the films here and here.
Kari Traa is being launched internationally at ISPO in Munich. ISPO is one of Europes largest trade shows. We did the design for the stand, whilst Reklamehuset Think got it built. We wish them good luck at the launch.
Skillmill. Sports chain Gresvig has launched their own clothing label. We did the visual identity for the label. See our portfolio.
Kari Traa Catalogue Autumn/Winter 06/07
We did some graphics for the autumn/winter 06/07 collection. We also did the illustrations for the catalogue.

Dorthe Amalie Kunstcafé, a combined art gallery and café opens on the 18th of November. We made their visual identity.

October 2005
Sold out in Bergen. There are no more Gotcha clothes at Base in Bergen. They might get the next collection in at a later stage.
We have made the visual identity for Dreis. They will be working with tourism and destination developement. The company is run by Anders Waage Nilsen from Fri Flyt and Kaia Finne from ekstremsportveko.

September 2005
We have worked with clothing brands Gotcha and Surf Couture for several years. Both brands are prodused in the surfers paradise of Biarritz in South of France. The brands are being sold in these shops: Base - Bergen, Seasport - Oslo, and Surf Sentrum - Stavanger.

The new Kari Traa collection are in store. We did the catalogue and arranged the photoshoot. Photos by Bent René Synnevåg, and styling by Agent:K. You can see some of the pics in our portfolio.
